Secondary pupils selected from the Nottingham Gifted and Talented programme will trace the build up to the D-Day landings and the impact it had on local communities and individuals. The story will start at Wollaton Park, Nottingham where the 508th parachute Regiment was stationed prior to departing for Normandy. Pupils will then visit the D-Day prior to departing for Normandy. The group will visit the D-Day museum in Portsmouth and various other sites in the SW linked to Operation Overload.
