The project will address social isolation in this remote rural area and will help older people to maintain independence at home and to sustain involvement in their communities. The project will provide one-to-one support at home and also provide improved access to community services and facilities. The five year grant will provide 50 per cent of the total project costs and will contribute to the salaries of the existing full-time project co-ordinator and a new post of part-time project support worker.
