This project in Karnataka, India, will work with deaf children, their teachers, parents, peers and communities to improve the quality of their primary education. A Community Based Rehabilitation Worker (CBRW), six of whom will be deaf themselves, will support families in accepting and understanding deafness, wellbeing, sign language, numeracy, and literacy. In year two parents will work in schools with hearing children to raise awareness and enable them to better support deaf children.
