Healthy Children, Healthy Communities: Making a difference in rural Ethiopi - Project
Project overview
This project will reduce the incidence of disease and death amongst children under five in three rural districts in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region of Ethiopia. Community-based health staff, health facility workers and community health volunteers will be trained to provide case management and curative care for the most serious illnesses affecting children under five, with a focus on pneumonia, malaria and diarrhoea. Mothers will also be taught to recognise signs and seek treatment for childhood illnesses.
